Dehradun, 28 Sep: Commissioner, Garhwal Division, Anand Swaroop, stated today that the Chardham Yatra has been resumed following improved weather conditions. Necessary guidelines have been issued to all District Magistrates in this regard.
He explained that, based on the weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, the Chardham Yatra was suspended from the afternoon of September 26th until September 27th, 2026, for the safety of pilgrims and devotees. Now, following the improvement in weather, the Yatra is being resumed.Commissioner Swaroop stated that the respective District Magistrates can make necessary decisions regarding the conduct of the Yatra based on local conditions in their respective districts. In case of road blockages, heavy rainfall, or adverse weather, the District Magistrates can temporarily suspend the Yatra at their own level.He stated that the safety of pilgrims is a top priority during the Chardham Yatra. The administration is continuously monitoring the weather and travel routes. Pilgrims have also been urged to consult weather information and follow the guidelines issued by the local administration before undertaking the Yatra.
