At Graphic Era Deemed University, the international conference on the role of chemistry in sustainable development goals began today. The Chief Guest, Director, Bureau of Indian Standards, Dehradun, Dr Saurabh Tiwari, said that sustainable development should not stay only in books. It must be followed in daily life. He said, “Chemistry is the base of our planet and guides us towards a safer future—it is present everywhere, from the air we breathe to its use in industries.”
Dr Tiwari said that the Earth’s natural resources are reducing very fast, and to save them for the coming generations, we must start working now. He stressed the need for green technology, proper waste management, and saving energy.
