DEHRADUN, 11 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while chairing a high-level meeting at his residence here on Saturday, directed the officials to ensure that all roads across the State are made pothole-free at the earliest in order to provide to the people improved and safer transport facilities. During the review, officials apprised the Chief Minister that nearly 52 per cent of the patchwork under the ongoing campaign had already been completed.
Dhami instructed that the remaining work be executed expeditiously and with full diligence. He directed all the Secretaries In-charge of the districts to conduct regular visits to their respective areas, interact with the local populace, and monitor the effective implementation of the Government’s various developmental and welfare schemes.
Emphasising on the need for swift action in disaster-affected regions, the CM instructed that construction and reconstruction activities in such areas be accorded top priority. He underlined that essential infrastructure must be restored without delay to ensure relief and normalcy for the affected residents. He also stressed the need to accelerate the repair of damaged bridges and the construction of new ones to strengthen connectivity in vulnerable zones.
Dhami further directed the officials to maintain the highest standards of quality and transparency in all developmental works. He asserted that the State Government remains committed to providing safe, convenient, and improved basic amenities to the citizens, for which inter-departmental coordination and vigilance are imperative.
Also present at the meeting included Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar, and other senior officials of the Public Works Department.
