Wednesday, 31 July 2024 | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami greeted the Kanwadias by offering garlands, shawls and Ganga Jal to them near Damkothi in Haridwar on Tuesday. He also washed the feet of some devotees. He said that Kanwad Yatra has special significance in the month of Shravan and the State government feels privileged by welcoming the Kanwadias. He said that serving the pilgrims is a virtuous act. Dhami said that the Kanwadias should not only enjoy the Yatra but also complete the Yatra by showing self-discipline with faith and devotion. The CM said that devotees from different parts of the country are coming on the Kanwad Yatra with immense reverence. He has also appealed to the Kanwad Yatris to follow the traffic rules and the guidelines issued by the administration. The CM said that the state government is working to preserve Sanatan culture along with faith and engaging in developmental activities. He also appreciated the cooperation of the district administration, saints, public representatives, social organizations, and voluntary organizations for smooth management during the Yatra. Dhami said that the state government has made arrangements of health camps, toilets, parking and tin sheds at various places for the Kanwad Yatra. Dhami said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special attachment and love for Uttarakhand. Haridwar MLA Madan Kaushik, former minister Swami Yatishwaranand and senior officers of administration were present on the occasion .
