Wednesday, 16 October 2024 | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami handed over appointment letters to 289 officers selected in the State civil/ subordinate services examination at his residence on Tuesday.  Congratulating the newly appointed officers, the CM said that in the last three years appointments have been given to more than 17,500 youths in various departments of State government. He expressed hope the young officers will play a major role in fulfilling the dream of developed India by the year 2047. Dhami said that with the appointment of new officers the government machinery will move at a fast pace and the works related to the welfare of the general public will get expedited.  The CM said that in his first cabinet meeting a decision to fill 24,000 vacant posts in government departments was taken and the process of appointment is going on. He said that everyone should contribute to the development journey of Uttarakhand.  The CM averred that Uttarakhand has made a special place for itself in every sector and in the recent rankings released by the NITI Aayog in the sustainable development goals (SDG the State was ranked in first place.  He also expressed hope that the newly appointed officers will ensure that the benefit of the welfare schemes of the government reaches the last person standing on the social ladder and work as a bridge between people and government.   In the programme appointment letters were handed over  to 10 deputy collectors, 10 deputy superintendent of police, 18 finance officers,  11 assistant regional transport officers, 28 block development officers, 16 assistant commissioner State taxes, seven assistant registrars, four district supply officers, five district social welfare officers, 17 assistant directors (industry), 10 assistant director agriculture, 20 horticulture development officers and others.  Cabinet ministers Satpal Maharaj, Premchand Agarwal, Ganesh Joshi, Saurabh Bahuguna, Rekha Arya, additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, principal secretary R K Sudhanshu, L Fenai, director general police Abhinav Kumar and others attended the programme.
