CM Dhami orders safety audit of all school buildings – myuttarakhandnews.com | Uttarakhand News in English | Dehradun News Today| News Uttarakhand | Uttarakhand latest news

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the State administration to conduct a safety audit of all the school buildings in the State. He gave the order while chairing a high level meeting at his residence on Friday. On a stern note, the CM said that the children should not be made to sit in dilapidated and unsafe school buildings under any circumstances. “Negligence of any kind related to the safety of children will not be tolerated, ‘’ he warned. The CM said that wherever the school building is repairable, it should be repaired without delay and where reconstruction is required, its action plan should be made and implemented promptly. In the meeting, the CM also directed the officials to conduct a safety audit of all the bridges in the State. He said that the bridges which are in a bad condition should be repaired and reconstructed on priority basis as per the need. It should be ensured that the condition of the bridges is regularly monitored and there is no loss of life due to dilapidated bridges, he said. Dhami added that the process of developing Triyuginarayan and other places of the State as wedding destinations should be expedited. “This is an important initiative towards promoting tourism and local employment in the State. Special attention should be paid to quality, facilities and cultural dignity in the development of these places. The policy of other States in this context should also be studied so that an effective and attractive wedding destination policy can be developed in Uttarakhand,’’ he said. The CM directed that work towards developing two spiritual economic zones in the State should be expedited. He said that this initiative will strengthen religious, cultural and spiritual tourism in the State and will give a boost to the economic activities. He has directed the concerned departments to work in this direction by preparing a concrete action plan with mutual coordination. Principal secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Vinay Shankar Pandey, special secretary Parag Madhukar Dhakate, Inspector General KS Nagnyal, additional secretary Banshidhar Tiwari and others were present in the meeting.
