CM Dhami takes stock of disaster, assures every possible help to affected people – myuttarakhandnews.com | Uttarakhand News in English | Dehradun News Today| News Uttarakhand | Uttarakhand latest news

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the State Emergency Operation Centre at IT Park on Thursday morning to take stock of the relief and rescue operations in disaster affected areas of the State. He directed the officers to expedite the rescue and relief operations in the disaster affected villages of the Nandanagar area of Chamoli district. The CM interacted with the Chamoli district magistrate Sandeep Tiwari and sought information about the natural disaster in the Nandanagar. He directed the DM that the seriously injured people should be airlifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh.  The CM directed the officers to restore roads, drinking water and electricity supplies and network connectivity in areas affected by heavy rainfall. Adequate arrangements should be made for shelter, food, clean drinking water and other essential amenities for the disaster affected. Adequate numbers of doctors and medicines should be made available in the affected areas, he said.  Later in the day, the CM visited the disaster affected areas on Mussoorie Road and Kimadi in Dehradun. He directed the administration to quickly repair the main roads to restore normal traffic and ensure alternative arrangements for the movement of people with immediate effect. He said that all the departments concerned should work on a war footing to quickly restore normal life in the affected areas. All affected families should be provided immediate financial assistance and basic services, he said. He assured that the state government is firmly standing with the people affected by the disaster and every effort is being done to put life back to normal in affected areas. Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi, deputy chairman of the Disaster Management Advisory committee Vinay Rohilla, Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal, SSP Ajai Singh and other officers accompanied the CM.
