
PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the administration to remain on alert mode throughout the monsoon season. He gave the direction while chairing a high level meeting on disaster management at his residence on Friday. On receiving information about the disaster triggered by extremely heavy rainfall in some areas of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri and Bageshwar districts, the CM interacted with the district magistrates of these districts over phone and instructed them to conduct relief and rescue operations at a fast pace. He directed that affected people should be immediately taken to safer places without any delay. In the meeting of the Disaster Management department, the CM directed the officials to provide all basic facilities in the affected areas immediately. He said that the road, electricity and drinking water supplies should be restored immediately in case of any disruption. Directing the administration to remain on high alert, the CM said that the resources and facilities sought by the DMs should be made available immediately. He asked the administration to ensure that the affected families get compensation as per the prescribed standards soon. Principal Secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram and Shailesh Bagoli, additional director general of Police AP Anshuman, secretary Disaster Management Vinod Kumar Suman, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey and special secretary Parag Madhukar Dhakate were present in the meeting.
