PIONEER NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the district magistrates to make roads in their districts free from potholes within the next 15 days. He also directed them to focus on public service delivery in their districts, maintaining drinking water supply and effective control over forest fires. The CM gave these instructions during a virtual meeting with all the DMs of the State on Monday. He said that DMs should undertake regular campaigns against land encroachment. Dhami directed that regular sampling of food items should be conducted while river dredging and cleaning of drains should be completed before the onset of monsoon.  He said that regular Janta Darbars, Tehsil Diwas and BDC meetings should be held to resolve public grievances quickly and regular multipurpose camps should be organized at the block level. On a terse note, the CM said that the response time should be minimised for effective control over the forest fires.  Dhami also directed the DMs to ensure that all arrangements are done in advance for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. He said that the control rooms should be kept in active mode on the Yatra route and special attention should be paid on having a proper traffic plan and basic facilities should be provided to all the devotees. The CM asked the DMs to transfer all the personnel posted at one place for more than three years. He said that in view of the summer season, arrangements should be made for smooth supply of drinking water in the districts and if required, arrangements of drinking water tankers should be made. Dhami said that a plan for smooth supply of power during summers should be prepared in advance.  He said that the common public should get full benefit of various public welfare schemes of the Union and the State governments. The CM added that by giving wide publicity, all eligible people should be given the benefit of these schemes.  The additional chief secretary RK Sudhanshu, secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, additional director general of police AP Anshuman, MDDA vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari and Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat attended the meeting. All the DMs attended the meeting virtually.
