PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun  Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officers of the Public Works Department (PWD) to expedite the process of construction of the four lane elevated road project on Rispana and Bindal rivers in Dehradun. He was reviewing the game changer schemes of PWD at the secretariat on Tuesday. The CM said that work on Asharodi- Mokhampur ring road/ bypass and utility duct policy should also be done at a fast pace. He said that use of latest technology should be made in the construction of roads and top priority should be given to reconstruction and repair of the dilapidated bridges in the State. The CM suggested that use of geo-synthetic retaining wall technique should be made for constructing safe and durable roads in the landslide affected areas of the State. He directed that the campaign to make the roads of the State free from the potholes should be undertaken regularly. Dhami directed the officers to lay special emphasis on extending road connectivity in the State. He said that work at a fast pace should be done to improve connectivity between Kedarkhand (Garhwal) and Manaskhand (Kumaon) in the State. The CM said that a work plan should be prepared for strengthening the road connectivity between Dehradun and Haldwani, Delhi and Haldwani and other cities. The CM also directed the officers to work on construction of alternate routes for reducing traffic load between Dehradun and Mussoorie. The PWD secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey informed that feasibility study and hydrological studies have been completed under the first phase of the four lane elevated road project on Rispana and Bindal rivers in Dehradun. He said that the project involves a stretch of 15 kilometres on Bindal and 11 kilometres on Rispana rivers. Pandey said that demarcation work as per the proposed land acquisition plan is underway. He said that the alignment work of Dehradun ring road project has been finalised and the feasibility report has been prepared. The secretary added the feasibility report of the Dehradun- Mussoorie project is prepared and its geotechnical investigation has been completed. The vice chairman of the State Infrastructure Council Vishwas Dawar, chief secretary Anand Bardhan, principal secretaries RK Sudhanshu, R Meenakshi Sundaram, secretary Sachin Kurve, additional secretary Ashish Chauhan, Vinit Kumar and others attended the meeting.
