CM gears up State administration for Nanda Raj Jat Yatra – myuttarakhandnews.com | Uttarakhand News in English | Dehradun News Today| News Uttarakhand | Uttarakhand latest news

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the State chief secretary to constitute a high level committee for the successful conduct of the Nanda Raj Jat Yatra scheduled to be held next year. The CM gave the order while interacting with the officers of the State administration in an online mode on Tuesday. He said that all preparations for the Yatra should be expedited and the departments should work in mutual coordination to organize it in a grand manner. Dhami said that suggestions should be taken from public representatives, members of Nanda Raj Jat Yatra committee and all stakeholders for better arrangements of the Yatra. He said that keeping in view the experiences of previous Yatras, better arrangements should be ensured.  Dhami directed that all bridle paths of the Yatra should be maintained and special attention should be paid to cleanliness. He also directed for better arrangements for the stay of the devotees at the halts of the Yatra, along with arrangements for food and bathing houses. On a stern note the CM said that the safety of the devotees is of utmost importance and all necessary arrangements should be made to face various challenges in the high Himalayan regions during the Yatra. A digital tracking system should be made along with telecommunication arrangements on the Yatra route.  Dhami said that a helpline number should be issued and special attention should be paid to health facilities during the Yatra.  He said that arrangement of Heli ambulance service should also be ensured during the Yatra.  The CM added that since Yatra takes place during the rainy season necessary arrangements should be made to prevent infectious diseases. He directed the officers to ensure that adequate availability of tents for the devotees should be ensured. Dhami said that folk songs and folk tales related to the Yatra should also be documented. He said that all necessary arrangements should be made for crowd management and strengthening the traffic system during the Yatra. The CM directed the CS to review the preparations for the Yatra every month and added that the Garhwal and Kumaon commissioners will also review the preparations every week. Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, MLAs Banshidhar Bhagat, Anil Nautiyal, Bhupal Ram Tamta, Suresh Gadiya, Parvati Dass, Mohan Singh Bisht, chief secretary Anand Bardhan and other senior officers of State administration attended the meeting.
