
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the second floor of the All India Uttarakhand Dharamshala Ashram at Pushkar, located in Ajmer, Rajasthan on Sunday. A large number of expatriate Uttarakhandis, local citizens and representatives of various organisations attended the special programme organised on this occasion. Addressing the gathering, he said one gets the merit of the Char Dham Yatra on bathing in the holy pond in Pushkar. He expressed hope that this Dharamshala will be an important place of shelter for devotees in the future in addition to further strengthening the cultural, spiritual and social relations between Uttarakhand and Rajasthan. Dhami said that the Sanatan culture of India has developed an identity at the global level under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Various works like the construction of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath corridor, Mahakla Lok and reconstruction of the Badrinath and Kedarnath Dhams have taken India’s spiritual heritage to new heights. The CM said that the Uttarakhand government is also taking PM Modi’s guidance for the beautification of the Kedarkhand and Manaskhand Mandir areas, Shri Krishna Yamuna Teerth circuit, Haridwar-Rishikesh corridor, Sharada corridor and various other important projects. The establishment of the Centre for Hindu Studies in the Doon University is part of these efforts, he said. Dhami further said that Uttarakhand is a centre of faith and culture for the entire country and that the State government has taken various important and stern decisions for protecting the original form of the State. A strict law was enacted against forced religious conversion while stern action is also being taken against land Jihad, love Jihad and spit Jihad Provision has been made under the anti-riots act to seek compensation from rioters for the damage they cause. The State government also identified unauthorised religious structures and freed more than 10,000 acres of land from such structures. The CM said that Uttarakhand is also the first State to implement the Uniform Civil Code which provides the same legal provisions for all citizens. The new law has been implemented and the Madarsa Board has been annulled with government board recognised curriculum being made mandatory in all the schools. More than 250 illegal Madarsas were also shut down in the State. Addressing the expatriate Uttarakhandis, he appealed to them to forward their native culture, identity and the traditions of their ancestors. He also said that the State government is working to make Uttarakhand the spiritual capital of the world. It was also stated in the event that the Uttarakhand government had provided a financial assistance of Rs one crore for this Ashram with Dhami announcing an additional sum of Rs 50 lakh on the occasion.
