Dehradun, 23 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today paid tribute to the late Indramani Badoni on the occasion of his birth anniversary. On this occasion, the CM recalled the seminal role played by Badoni in the statehood agitation. In a message issued on the eve of Badoni’s birth anniversary, the CM said that Badoni had made an invaluable contribution to the struggle for statehood and that his active participation in the Uttarakhand statehood movement would always be remembered with deep respect.
Dhami stated that Badoni was one of the principal architects of the 1994 statehood movement and emerged as a guiding force during a crucial phase of the agitation. He described Badoni as a torchbearer of the cultural ethos of Devbhoomi and a true well-wisher of the hill regions, whose life and work were devoted to safeguarding the interests of the people of the mountains. He said that Badoni’s clear vision for the development of the Himalayan region and his unwavering commitment to the cause of a separate state can never be forgotten.
Recalling his leadership and sacrifice, the CM stated that Badoni’s role in mobilising people and shaping public opinion during the Uttarakhand movement has left an indelible mark on the state’s political and social history. He added that the ideals and values upheld by Badoni continue to inspire successive generations and remained relevant even today.
The CM further said that the occasion of Badoni’s birth anniversary serves as a reminder and an inspiration to work with renewed dedication towards making Uttarakhand a developed and leading state. He stated that the life and struggle of Badoni symbolises selfless service, perseverance and commitment to public welfare. He also called upon the people of the state to draw inspiration from his legacy and contribute to the overall progress and prosperity of Uttarakhand.
