PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has exhorted the people to work collectively in a committed manner for environmental conservation. In his message on the eve of World Environment Day, Dhami said that there is a deep connection between nature and Uttarakhand’s culture and lifestyle. Stressing on the need for collective efforts for environmental conservation, the CM said that all must together think about the conservation of nature, adding that it has been a part of the temperament of Uttarakhandis. “The challenges of climate change, global warming and environmental imbalance are facing the whole world. The government’s efforts to tackle these challenges through conservation of water, forests and land need to be boosted by the participation of the public, voluntary organisations and public representatives. All the people will have to come forward to maximise tree plantation, conservation of water sources, cleanliness of rivers and public places, and reducing the use of plastic. Collective awareness and efforts are vital for successfully tackling environmental challenges,” he said.
