
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred an amount of Rs 12.89 crore to the bank accounts of 4,224 beneficiaries of various schemes under the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board in a programme organised at his camp office on Saturday. The CM also launched a special arrangement for the assistance of workers in 191 Common Service Centers of the State, through which workers will be able to easily get information related to the schemes, registration and other services. Addressing the programme, CM stated that the State government is addressing every problem faced by construction workers. Various welfare schemes are being implemented for workers and their dependents, providing them with economic security, social protection and a respectable life. The chief minister added that the State government has also worked to connect workers and their dependents with skill development by conducting training programs for their livelihoods. Dhami said that construction workers are the strongest foundation of our State’s development. The contribution of workers in building infrastructure is incomparable. He said it is the State government’s responsibility to ensure a safe future for those who play a vital role in the State’s development. He said that with the special arrangements made for workers at 191 Common Service Centres across the State , they will no longer have to visit government offices. Furthermore, through CSCs at the block, tehsil and village levels, workers will receive all assistance related to registration, renewal, and schemes at one place. Dhami said that the Board has transferred an amount of Rs 51 crore to the accounts of workers and their families in the past six months. Labour commissioner PC Dumka stated that the Board is continuously working in the interest of workers.
