
PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Uttarkashi Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the disaster affected Sayanachatti area of Badkot tehsil in Uttarkashi district on Wednesday. In the visit, the CM took stock of the ongoing work to open the temporary lake built at Sayanachatti. He met the disaster-affected people and after listening to their problems, assured them of all possible help from the government. A temporary lake has been formed near Sayanachatti due to obstruction of the flow of River Yamuna due to debris and boulders from Gadgad stream. The Chief Minister inspected the temporary lake on the river and directed authorities to remove the obstruction and the silt deposited in the river route and increase rapid water drainage by widening the mouth of the lake. The CM directed the District Magistrate to immediately assess the loss suffered by the local people due to waterlogging and debris and submit a report and make arrangements for purchasing potato crop at a reasonable price. Dhami also inspected the Kupda Kunshala bridge and directed authorities to nominate the work execution agency as soon as possible to start the construction work and arrange an alternative pedestrian route till the movement is restored. The CM said that the movement which has been disrupted due to the obstruction on the road due to landslides at various places should be restored and the Yamunotri route should be opened. He assured that the government is with every affected family and after assessing the losses every possible help will be provided as soon as possible. Purola MLA Durgeshwar Lal, Yamunotri MLA Sanjay Dobhal, district Panchayat president Ramesh Chauhan, district magistrate Prashant Arya, Superintendent of Police Sarita Dobhal, and others accompanied the CM during the visit.
