Cong allegation of polarisation over a minor issue is ridiculous: Manveer Chauhan

Dehradun, 3 Feb: BJP state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan today claimed that the flawed intent of the Congress is clearly visible, as on one hand it is trying to blow out of proportion an incident that took place in Kotdwar while pretending to be secular, and on the other it is levelling a laughable allegation of polarisation against the BJP.
Countering the Congress allegations, Chauhan said that the sudden turn of events in the entire incident raises serious questions. He said that a minor issue, which had already been resolved earlier, appeared to have been given a carefully scripted form. The sudden arrival of a Congress organisation youth at the spot, and the role of local Congress workers in fuelling the dispute instead of resolving it, followed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi bestowing the status of a hero on the accused youth, raises serious doubts about the intent behind the entire episode. He said that the videos which have surfaced show the individual concerned in an aggressive posture. Chauhan alleged that the Congress is endorsing this very aggression, which clearly points towards its policy of appeasement in the state.
Chauhan further said that the Chief Minister has already made the government’s position on law and order abundantly clear that any attempt to take the law into one’s own hands will not be tolerated. He said that the Pauri police is conducting a strict investigation into the matter and cases have been registered against the accused. No one will be allowed to disturb public harmony, he asserted, adding that the police administration remains on high alert and no ill intentions will be allowed to succeed.
Referring to the recent incidents in the capital region, Chauhan described them as unfortunate and said that in all such cases the accused have been sent behind bars. He maintained that concerned agencies are keeping a close watch on the law & order situation across the state and action is being taken under a zero-tolerance policy. He said that instead of unnecessarily sensationalising every issue, the Congress needs to act like a responsible opposition, as the public is watching everything closely and will respond appropriately to misinformation in due course.
