Dehradun, 29 Dec: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today accused the Congress of being unsettled by the widespread public response to the Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar programme launched by the BJP Government and alleged that the opposition is resorting to the politics of lies and misinformation to divert attention from the state’s development. In an informal interaction with media persons at BJP’ State Headquarters here today, BJP State Chief Spokesperson Suresh Joshi claimed that Congress is creating confusion over recent social media developments related to a deceased daughter of the state and in the process was insulting the departed soul as well as the sacred land of Devbhoomi in an attempt to mislead the public.
Responding to media queries in this regard, Suresh Joshi said that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand is consistently achieving new milestones of development. He claimed that from basic infrastructure to public service delivery and social welfare indices, the state has now secured a place among the leading states of the country. He said that projects that had remained pending for nearly five decades, such as the Jamrani Dam, are now finally taking shape, while pilgrimage and heritage sites ranging from Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham and Hemkund Sahib to Adi Kailash and the Manaskhand temples are acquiring a new identity through reconstruction and beautification works. He added that major connectivity projects, including the Delhi–Dehradun elevated road, the Rishikesh–Karanprayag rail line, expansion of air services and improved inter-state road links, were accelerating the pace of development and integration in the state.
Joshi asserted that, following the path laid down by PM Modi, CM Dhami has placed the government’s achievements before the people in the form of an annual report card and that the public has repeatedly returned its trust and support to the BJP through elections and other democratic platforms. The BJP leader asserted that the government is strengthening the spirit of Antyodaya by taking governance to the doorsteps of the people and that under the Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar campaign, the officials are being stationed in every Nyaya Panchayat to ensure that all eligible and needy beneficiaries have been reached. According to him, the initiative has proved highly successful, with the grievances being resolved promptly and information about the welfare schemes reaching households directly, thereby translating development into visible outcomes at the grassroots level.
Taking a sharp swipe at the opposition, Joshi claimed that Congress is unable to digest the increasing public satisfaction with the government and the tangible benefits reaching people on the ground. He alleged that the party, frustrated by this response, has descended into what he described as unethical politics and is promoting unverified, indecent and impractical narratives on social media as part of a deliberate strategy.
Referring to the Ankita murder case, Joshi asserted that Congress has failed to provide any concrete evidence or credible information to the police or to the courts and instead is seeking to extract political mileage from a sensitive and tragic issue. He alleged that the opposition had earlier tried to malign the image of Devbhoomi through falsehoods and deception over the case and is now repeating the same tactics. Joshi asserted that such conspiracies would not succeed, adding that the people of Devbhoomi are fully aware and would never allow the state’s image or its values to be undermined.
