PIONEER NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami accused the opposition of spreading unrest in Uttarakhand by provoking religious, regional and caste-based sentiments due to prolonged political exclusion. He said that such efforts will not succeed as long as his government remains in power. He stated that every Bharatiya Janata Party worker is united in protecting the dignity and security of the State and committed to making Uttarakhand a leading state in the country. Speaking at the BJP headquarters on the occasion of Ram Navami and the party’s foundation day, Dhami paid tribute to key party figures including Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Deendayal Upadhyaya, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani. He said the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has become the largest political organisation in the world. Dhami mentioned the party’s principles of putting the nation first, the organisation second and the individual last. He said that under this philosophy, major steps such as the removal of Article 370, abolition of triple talaq and the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya have been completed. He said that the Modi-led government has provided stable governance and repeated electoral victories at both the Central and State levels are evidence of public support. Dhami added that inspired by the party leadership, the State government implemented laws including the Uniform Civil Code, stricter land and anti-conversion laws and measures to curb activities like love Jihad, land Jihad and spit Jihad. He said women have been given 30 per cent reservation in State government jobs and that over 22,000 government jobs have been provided to youth transparently in the last three years. He shared that parents of many successful candidates have expressed gratitude and that it is satisfying to see young people succeed across different posts. He also criticised past governments for only planning projects without executing them, asserting that his administration not only plans but also lays foundations for projects which are completed too. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt acknowledged the contribution of democracy activists, congratulated new office bearers and expressed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Dhami. He said the double-engine government has broken political patterns and secured a second consecutive term in the state. He added that the government’s performance over the last three years points to another likely victory in the upcoming elections. He urged party members to prepare for the upcoming panchayat elections and ensure maximum victories so that the party secures leadership in all block and district panchayats. He called on all active and primary members to hoist party flags at their homes as part of the ongoing celebration events through April 13.
