Congress inducting expelled BJP leaders: Mahendra Bhatt

DEHRADUN, 28 Mar: The BJP has termed the Congress‘s attempt to field leaders expelled from the party in the elections as a sign of the lotus blooming for a hat-trick in 2027. Commenting on certain BJP leaders joining Congress today in New Delhi, BJP State president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt called the Congress a party of four leaders whose in-charge does not feel it necessary to visit Devbhoomi. Clarifying his stance on the allegations regarding ministers, he stated that whoever joins the party is becomes a BJP worker. They are given a role in the organisation and the government as per their capacity and utility. He also said that a new list of office-bearers would be issued soon after the Chief Minister’s return.

While answering questions from the media at the party headquarters, he clarified that the people who joined the Congress on Saturday had already left the party long ago, and therefore they cannot be the called as the face of the BJP. One has to remain within the ambit of discipline in the BJP and whoever breaks that discipline is removed from the party, albeit reluctantly but with firmness. “Now, if someone who has been thrown out shifts somewhere else, what difference does it make to us? However, the Congress should have considered why they were removed from the BJP,” he added.  He shot a taunt saying “perhaps what we saw as a shortcoming or a mistake might be good in the Congress‘s work culture”.

Bhatt claimed that the Congress does not even have candidates to contest elections and that is why the party wants to move forward with the people expelled from BJP. Because till yesterday, the Congress used to say that the BJP does not have people and that they are taking leaders from its party. Now the Congress itself is inducting the people who were expelled,  into its party and wants to contest the elections. This is a clear indication of the BJP winning two-thirds of the seats in the 2027 elections and forming the government for the third consecutive time.

Aiming to put an end to all discussions about insiders and outsiders in the Cabinet, Bhatt asserted that any person who comes into the BJP becomes a BJP worker. The party does not later identify or recognise them from any other party but aims to establish them ideologically within the party. The party includes the capable persons in BJP and gives them a suitable place according to their capacity and utility. We give them responsibilities in the organisation and if needed, also give them a ministerial or other role in the government.

Regarding the new list of office-bearers in the government, he also clarified that it is in the purview of Chief Minister Dhami. The CM, on Friday met the Prime Minister, to extend an invitation to visit Uttarakhand. He has some more important meetings in Delhi and soon after he returns, the list will be issued.

Similarly, when asked about a big meeting of senior Congress leaders in Delhi, he jeered: ‘who are these senior leaders? Is the Congress a party of four people? Now it does not matter whether they sit in Dehradun or Delhi, because BJP leaders and workers work on the ground 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Their in-charge does not even feel it necessary to come to Devbhoomi; she conducts meetings of Dehradun from Delhi itself’.
