Convocation Ceremony 2025 held at Uttaranchal University

Dehradun, 11 Dec: A convocation ceremony was organised at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium of Uttaranchal University for students who graduated in 2025 after receiving their education through the university’s Centre for Online and Distance Education. The Chairman of the University, Jitendra Joshi, was present as the chief guest on this occasion. The programme commenced with a traditional procession led by the University Registrar, Dr Anuj Rana. Students from various states of the country, who had pursued their education through distance learning, participated in the convocation with great enthusiasm. Among the degree recipients were young people as well as elderly individuals up to 71 years of age. The entire auditorium resonated with applause as elderly individuals accompanied by their grandchildren and mothers carrying their infants received their degrees. A lifetime placement service app was also launched on this occasion. The students’ faces lit up with joy upon receiving their degrees and becoming associated with the Uttaranchal University Alumni Association.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Dharm Buddhi, presented the report of the Centre for Online and Distance Education established at the university. He said that the centre was established in 2021 after the university received an A+ grade from NAAC. Currently, more than 13,000 students from India and abroad are pursuing BBA, MBA, BCA, MCA, and BA degrees from here. A total of 2361 students are currently receiving degrees, including 1538 MBA and 828 MCA students.
In her address, the Vice-Chairperson of the university,  Ankita Joshi, said that in this era of AI and competition, online education is the best means of utilising time effectively and achieving the all-round development of an individual. This is a medium through which individuals from every section and age group of society can receive education and develop their personalities.
The programme was attended by a large number of students, along with Vice-Chairperson of the University Governing Committee, Anuradha Joshi, Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajesh Bahuguna, Director Pritam Dey, Prof Kartikeya Gaur, Prof Pradeep Suri, Prof Sonal Sharma, and Dr Nitin Duklan.
