Lansdowne, 19 Jun: The Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre (GRRC), Lansdowne, in a historic first-of-its-kind collaboration with Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU), hosted the inaugural convocation ceremony for the Agniveer Batch 8.
During the ceremony, a proud contingent of 238 Agniveers of Batch No. 8 were formally awarded their Diplomas in Defence and Security Management.
The degrees were presented in a joint conferment by Professor Dr MPS Bisht of the prestigious HNBG University and Brigadier Vinod Singh Negi, Commandant, GRRC.

This landmark initiative bridges rigorous military training with structured academic excellence, equipping Agniveers with vital analytical skills in security management alongside their soldierly discipline.
Today, the Agniveer Course 8/26 passed out from GRRC after the completion of 24 weeks of military training. In a grand Passing Out Parade showcased by Agniveers at Bhavani Dutt Joshi Parade Ground of GRRC, a total of 259 AV recruits took the oath and joined the royal legacy of Garhwal Rifle.
Brig Vinod Singh Negi reviewed the parade and the silent Himalayas once again witnessed the roar of veer Garhwalis when the future soldiers took the regimental oath and filled the sky with the regimental war cry of Badri Vishal Lal ki Jai.
The confidence on the faces of Agniveers and the satisfaction in the eyes of their parents was the unsaid testimony that these young Garhwali soldiers are all set to take the name of the regiment to a new high.
A total of 354 AV recruits are set to step out of the portals of GRRC to render their services to the nation and Garhwal Rifles.
