Dehradun, 7 Nov: The second day of the Uttarakhand Rajya Yuva Mahotsav 2025 witnessed a vibrant blend of technology, tradition, and youth participation at the Parade Ground, here, today. Organized by the Department of Youth Welfare & PRD, the three-day festival is being celebrated on the occasion of Uttarakhand’s 25th Foundation Day, marking the state’s Silver Jubilee year.

The day began with the much-awaited Sportstech Hackathon, at which young innovators presented cutting-edge solutions aimed at enhancing sports performance, athlete training, and fitness technology. The traditional game Murgajhapat also drew significant attention, reflecting efforts to revive Uttarakhand’s indigenous sporting culture. Exhibitions of modern gym equipment highlighted advancements in sports science and training techniques, offering valuable insights to aspiring athletes, while the Science Mela drew large crowds with interactive displays, student innovations, and hands-on demonstrations designed to spark scientific curiosity.

Speaking about the vision behind the festival, Special Principal Secretary, Youth Welfare & PRD, Amit Kumar Sinha said, “The Uttarakhand Rajya Yuva Mahotsav is a testament to the capability, creativity, and cultural strength of our youth. This Silver Jubilee year holds special importance as we are not only celebrating our progress but also inspiring young minds to actively participate in shaping a Viksit Uttarakhand and a Viksit Bharat.”Push-up challenges under the Fit Uttarakhand campaign along with an exciting round of Drone Kabaddi further added to the energy of the day. The cultural spirit of the state remained at the forefront with folk song and folkdance competitions, where participants from various districts showcased soulful melodies and vibrant choreography.
Speaking about the day’s enthusiastic participation, Joint Director Ajay Aggarwal said, “The enthusiasm of the youth reflects the bright future of Uttarakhand. Events like these not only celebrate talent but also strengthen community and cultural pride.”In the Martial Arts competition, results were announced across categories: Under 45 KG, Lokinder from Dehradun stood first, Ayush from Nainital second, and Pratyaksh from Dehradun third; in 45–50 KG, Atharv from Udham Singh Nagar secured first place, Chaitanya from Nainital second and Zoyab from Udham Singh Nagar third; in 50–55 KG, Vivaan from Udham Singh Nagar came first, Adamya from Dehradun second and Saransh from Dehradun third; in 55–60 KG, Kavyansh from Nainital took first place, Atharva from Dehradun second and Ansh from Dehradun third; while in the 60+ KG category, Manan from Udham Singh Nagar stood first followed by Abhinav from Udham Singh Nagar and Osho from Tehri.
In the Folk Song competition, the first prize was awarded to the Dehradun team, followed by Pithoragarh in second place and Uttarkashi in third. In the Folk Dance competition, Dehradun again secured first place, with Champawat taking second and Bageshwar third.The evening showcased an array of captivating cultural performances, beginning with artists from Pinder Ghati Tharali and followed by enchanting folk presentations from Chamoli district. The celebrations culminated in a grand cultural night led by acclaimed Uttarakhand singer Darshan Farswan, whose soulful renditions including ‘Hey Mohana’, ‘Jhumki’, ‘Hey Nanda’, ‘Mohani’, and ‘Moti Maa’ left the audience spellbound, while a performance by Band Tapassv further energized the crowd.
Alongside competitions and performances, the Mahotsav continued to highlight Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship through over 200 stalls showcasing organic products, millets, fruits, vegetables, handloom, handicrafts, textiles, traditional jewellery, footwear, books, home décor, and women’s ethnic wear. Special food stalls celebrating authentic Pahadi flavours, millet-based recipes, and fusion dishes added a vibrant culinary element to the festival.Among the dignitaries present were Additional Director R.C. Dimri; Finance Controller B.N. Pandey; Joint Director Ajay Aggarwal; Deputy Directors Shakti Singh and S.K. Jairaj; Assistant Directors Neeraj Gupta and Deepti Joshi; and Assistant Accounts Officer Himani Bhatt.
