Ukhand cabinet approves new excise policy State government committed to protect the basis structure of Uttarakhand’s demography: CM Saturday, 14 September 2024 | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the ongoing verification drive to address the problem of demography change in Uttarakhand would be further intensified. Interacting with the media persons at IRTD auditorium here on Saturday the CM said that the State government is committed to ensure that the basic structure of the State’s demography is maintained. He said that efforts are being made to ensure that the demographic change does not affect the culture of Uttarakhand and the concept of the State remains unchanged. The CM averred that the verification drive undertaken by the State has yielded positive results and added that the drive will be intensified with resoluteness. He said that the State government has started a campaign against encroachments and added that the government is committed to ensure that daughters and sisters are safe in the State.  In response to a question the CM said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will vote for peace and development in the ensuing Assembly elections. Dhami who is one of the star campaigners of the BJP  for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls said that the people are enthusiastic about the upcoming elections and after abrogation of article 370 of constitution the incidents of stone pelting have become a thing of past and now there is ‘minimum terrorism and maximum tourism’ in Kashmir. He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled the dream of ‘Ek Desh, Ek Vidhan and Ek Nishan’ of Shayama Prasad Mukerjee.   Dhami said that earlier only 10 per cent people used to participate in elections in Jammu and Kashmir but in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, the voting percentage increased to 58.
