PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s entire life is a symbol of patriotism, democratic principles and human values. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said this while speaking at the Atal-Modi Sushasan Yatra held at Madanapalle in Annamayya district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. Vajpayee’s statue was also unveiled in the city on the occasion. Dhami said that it was under Vajpayee’s leadership as Prime Minister that India conducted the Pokhran nuclear test, started the Golden Quadrilateral project, rural roads scheme and the telecommunications revolution. By successfully completing the tenure of the coalition government, he proved that all parties can work together when the aim is the development of the nation, the CM said. Inspired by Vajpayee and under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the nation is achieving new heights in the spheres of service, good governance and welfare of the poor. Schemes like Startup India, Make In India, Digital India and Vocal For Local are enabling the nation to efficiently progress towards self-reliance, Dhami said. “Today, India has become a major economic power of the world while also making considerable progress in sectors like defence, space and infrastructure. About 99 per cent of the villages have been linked by road under the Modi government while historic changes are being witnessed in health, education and transport sectors. Unprecedented work has also been done for the preservation of Sanatan culture and the religious heritage of the nation under PM Modi’s leadership with major works like the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath corridor, Mahakal Lok in Ujjain and the reconstruction works in Badrinath and Kedarnath,” he said. The CM further said that decisive steps like the abrogation of Article 370 from Kashmir, banning triple Talaq, Citizenship Amendment Act and Waqf amendment have provided a strong basis for ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. Dhami also appreciated the development works underway in Andhra Pradesh under its chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, adding that the State is setting new dimensions in development with its industrial townships, night vision factory, semiconductor unit and other developmental projects. Dhami also spoke about the various developments achieved in Uttarakhand.
