Thursday, 25 January 2024 | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN Accepts demand of employees on CCL, increases vehicle allowance Keeping the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in mind the Pushkar Singh Dhami government has started bestowing benefits on the State government employees. After giving them the New Year gift of increased dearness allowance (DA), the government has accepted the demand of women employees for waiving off the 20 per cent cut in the salary in the child care leave (CCL). The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had already given an order regarding this by using his discretionary power. In the meeting of the State cabinet held on Wednesday the decision on CCL was presented before the cabinet which endorsed it. Informing about the decision, the chief secretary SS Sandhu said that the women employees and single parents get the benefit of CCL which is a period of two years in their service period. He said that as of now the employees get 100 per cent salary during the first 365 days of CCL while they get 80 per cent salary during the second 365 period of CCL. The cabinet approved the plan of giving 100 per cent salary during the entire two year CCL period. The decision will benefit thousands of State government employees. In another decision the cabinet endorsed the proposal to grant vehicle allowance of Rs 4,000 per month to the assistant engineers deployed in different departments of government. The cabinet also approved the proposal to increase the vehicle allowance of the eligible employees of the State government. They will now get Rs 1,200 to Rs 4,000 vehicle allowance per month depending upon their grade pay. In another decision aimed at pleasing the employees, the cabinet approved the proposal to create a new post of senior personal assistant with a grade pay of Rs 4,800. The cabinet gave its approval to the proposal of increase in the purchase price of sugarcane by Rs 20 per quintal for extraction session 2023-34. Now the price of the early (Ageti) variety of sugarcane will be Rs 375 per quintal and Rs 365 per quintal for the common variety of sugarcane. In another important decision, the cabinet approved the plan to bring the Uttarakhand Panchayati Raj Amendment Act, 2024. The amendment will give a relaxation to candidates having twin children in the two children eligibility norm for contesting the three-tier Panchayati Raj system. In an important decision the cabinet approved the proposal to grant four per cent horizontal reservation in the government jobs in the state to the sportspersons. The government will table a bill regarding this in the upcoming session of the State Assembly. The CS said that the cabinet gave its approval to incorporate minor amendments in the Uttarakhand River Dredging Policy 2021. The changes have been brought in the wake of a High Court order which had allowed use of machines in river dredging with some riders. A decision to hand over a piece of five Bigha of land in the Old Jail premises to the bar association was also made in the meeting. The cabinet also approved the proposal of allotting a 0.026 hectare plot in Dehradun to National Highways Authority of India for construction of a building of the regional office of NHAI. A decision regarding extending the lease of ponds to contractors from existing five years to ten years was also approved by the cabinet. The CS said that a proposal for granting relaxation to the candidates in the eligibility criteria of various posts of experts in the adventure sports wing of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB). The cabinet approved a plan to develop the Jadung village in Uttarkashi district as a home stay cluster. The village has been included in the Vibrant Village programme and holds historical significance since it was vacated by the villagers in the Indo-China war of 1962 and was taken over by the Indian army and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). In the meeting the cabinet passed a resolution expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
