
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth Rs 142.25 crore for Chamoli district at Vidhan Sabha premises at Bharadisain in the summer capital Gairsain on Monday. He inaugurated 27 projects of Rs 43.63 crore and laid foundation stone of 33 projects of Rs 98.6 crore in the programme. The programme was organised to mark the silver jubilee of the foundation of the State. Speaking on the occasion, the CM paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country and for the creation of Uttarakhand. The CM said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi enhanced the prestige of the State by participating in the main programme of the silver jubilee celebrations held in Dehradun on Sunday. He said that the State government is continuously working to make Uttarakhand the spiritual capital of the world. To promote pilgrimage in the State, restoration and beautification of the ancient temples in Kedarkhand and Manaskhand is being undertaken. Remembering former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the CM said that apart from creating a new state, he gave the State new direction and strength by providing a special industrial package. Dhami averred that the State government has undertaken many schemes for the development of Gairsain. He said that the Sarkot village has been adopted and is being developed as a model village. New policies and schemes are also being implemented for the overall development of the state. He said that the unemployment in the State has declined by 4.4 per cent and it has been ranked first in the country in the sustainable development goals released by the NITI Aayog and the State has received the most film friendly State award. With the support of the central government, the State is continuously progressing in the areas of infrastructure, education, health and road, rail and air connectivity. He said that the State’s economy is being strengthened by the Mandir Mala Mission, the one district one fair scheme and by the promotion of adventure tourism. The CM said that strict land laws have been implemented in the State by which land mafia has been curbed. Transparency in recruitment examinations has been ensured by implementing strict anti- copting law. He said that a DPR of the master plan to develop Gairsain and surrounding areas on the lines of a smart city will be prepared soon.He also announced the inclusion of Chaukhutia, Jyotirmath and Ghanshali in the Udan scheme. Cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat, MLAs Anil Nautiyal, Bhupal Ram Tamta, Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Pramod Nainwal, Suresh Gadiya, and Pradeep Batra and others attended the programme.
