DEHRADUN, 27 Dec: Pushkar Singh Dhami released the Uttarakhandi folk song ‘Painli-Painli Baar’ at the Chief Minister’s Residence here on Saturday. He described the folk song as a creative medium to convey the government’s developmental milestones to the people. He said such songs strengthen social awareness and help citizens connect with initiatives being implemented for the first time in the state. Dhami emphasised that Uttarakhand’s decisions are setting examples for other states and reiterated the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting folk culture, language, and traditions.
The CM observed that Uttarakhand is making steady progress despite challenges, with historic schemes easing the lives of ordinary citizens. The song chronicles landmark achievements including the anti-copying law, removal of encroachments from government land, legislation on religious conversion and the Uniform Civil Code, promotion of winter tourism and pilgrimage, the Adi Kailash Yatra, reverse migration, revenue growth, farmer facilities, and appointments in government services.
Featuring voices of Saurabh Maithani, Govind Digari, Rakesh Khanwal, Lalit Gityar, Bhupendra Basera, Manoj Samant, Chandraprakash, Khushi Joshi, and Sonam, the lyrics were composed by Bhupendra Basera while the music has been composed by Lalit Gityar. The event was attended by Lal Batti holder Kailash Pant, several folk artists and the musicians, with some joining virtually. The song reflects the spirit of the campaign ‘Jan Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan Jan Ke Dwar’ and aims to make development accessible to every citizen.
