Haridwar, 3 Mar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today conducted a ground inspection of the preparations at Bairagi Camp in Haridwar for the proposed visit of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. It may be reminded here that Shah is expected to visit Haridwar on 7 March. On reaching Bairagi Camp here, the CM took detailed stock of the arrangements and issued necessary directions to the officials concerned to ensure a seamless event.
Addressing the officials, Dhami emphasised that the upcoming arrival of the Union Home and Cooperation Minister in Uttarakhand is a significant occasion for the state. He directed that all the arrangements for the programme must be well-organised, secure, and completed within the stipulated timeline. On this occasion, he also conducted a thorough review of various logistics, including stage management, seating arrangements, parking, drinking water, electricity supply, cleanliness and traffic management.
The CM also instructed the officials to strictly ensure there is no laxity in security arrangements and emphasised that the police and administration must work in close coordination with each other. He directed that the convenience of the general public attending the event should be the highest priority. Furthermore, he mandated that the medical facilities, emergency services and the fire-fighting arrangements remain fully prepared for any exigency.
Emphasising the state government’s commitment to excellence, Dhami observed that discipline, transparency and smooth execution are paramount in government-organised events. He called upon all the related departments to work with mutual synergy to make the programme a success. During the inspection, he specifically instructed the police to formulate a comprehensive traffic plan to prevent any congestion in the city, to ensure that the general public does not face any inconvenience.
During the visit, Commissioner, Garhwal, Vinay Shankar Pandey and District Magistrate Mayur Dixit shared with the CM detailed information regarding the preparations being made for the successful conduct of the programme. SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar briefed the CM on the traffic management and vehicle parking strategies.
Among those also present during the inspection were BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, District Panchayat President Kiran Chaudhary, Haridwar Mayor Kiran Jaisal and MLAs Madan Kaushik, Adesh Chauhan and Pradeep Batra. In addition, BJP District President Ashutosh Sharma, IG-Garhwal Rajiv Swarup, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, MD- SIDCUL Saurabh Gaharwar, Chief Development Officer Lalit Narayan Mishra were also present on the occasion.
