
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the disaster-affected Maldeveta and Kesarwala areas of Dehradun on Tuesday. In his visit, the CM inspected the relief and rescue works and directed the officers to expedite the operations. He also met the local people and assured them of every possible help. The CM said that heavy rains have caused great damage to the roads, bridges and other government properties and infrastructure in different parts of the State due to which normal life has been severely affected. He said that the officers have been directed to reopen all the blocked roads as early as possible. The administration has also been asked to restore the drinking water and electricity supplies in the affected areas without delay. Dhami said that teams of the administration are active in the field and relief, rescue and rehabilitation works are being undertaken with mutual coordination between different departments. He said that extra vigil is being maintained in view of the increase in the water level of the rivers. The CM consistently monitored the situation in different districts and the State Emergency Operation Centre on Tuesday. He directed that the problems of the people should be solved on the basis of priority. Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, inspector general of Garhwal, Rajiv Swarup, additional secretary Banshidhar Tiwari and senior officers of the police and district administration also accompanied the CM.
