my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN The visit of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to New Delhi, where he will meet the central leadership of the party has given credence to speculations about a cabinet expansion and reshuffle in Uttarakhand. The CM left for Delhi on Thursday, hours after the Uttarkashi visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In Delhi, the CM is scheduled to meet some ministers and attend a wedding. However, the Delhi visit of the CM and the statement of BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt that expansion of the State cabinet will soon take place, gave momentum to the talk of reshuffle and expansion of Dhami cabinet. Amid growing demand for removal of senior cabinet minister Prem Chand Aggarwal over his alleged use of abusive language during the budget session of Vidhan Sabha, speculations are rife that the CM will reshuffle his cabinet. It is likely that a couple of controversial ministers will be dropped from the cabinet. At present four berths in the Dhami cabinet are vacant and in the likely event of an expansion there are a host of aspirants for a place in the cabinet. The names of Vikasnagar MLA Munna Singh Chauhan, former BJP state president Madan Kaushik, Dharampur MLA Vinod Chamoli, Devprayag MLA Vinod Kandari, Bhimtal MLA Ram Singh Kaida, BHEL Ranipur MLA Adesh Chauhan, Karnprayag MLA Anil Nautiyal, are some of the names which are making rounds as possible new faces in the Dhami cabinet. The BJP leadership will also have to strike a balance on regional and caste lines and try to include young leaders in the cabinet reshuffle and expansion exercise.
