DM inaugurates modernised NIC office

DEHRADHUN, 9 May: District Magistrate Savin Bansal on Saturday inaugurated the newly-renovated premises of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) office located at the Collectorate. The modernisation of the office has been carried out under his special initiative, with the aim of making the workplace more organised, technology-enabled and efficient.

The officials claim that the renovation has provided improved workspaces, advanced resources and essential facilities for the District Informatics Officer, Additional District Informatics Officer, technical staff and operators. The office has been redesigned to meet contemporary technological requirements, ensuring greater convenience for employees in carrying out their duties and enhancing the quality of digital services delivered to the public.

Speaking on the occasion, Bansal said that NIC is a vital link in the digital systems of governance and administration. He emphasised that the strengthening of the office will accelerate e-governance activities and enable departments to function more effectively. He noted that the upgraded facilities would be particularly useful in the smooth conduct of critical tasks such as elections, where digital systems play a crucial role.

NIC officials and staff expressed gratitude to the DM and the Chief Development Officer (CDO), stating that the new facilities would significantly improve efficiency and bring speed and simplicity to their work. The District Informatics Officer remarked that government digital services would now reach citizens with greater ease, transparency and effectiveness, ensuring direct benefits to the public.

Among those present on the occasion included CDO Abhinav Shah, ADM (Revenue) KK Mishra, SDM Sadar Kumkum Joshi, NIC State Unit Head and Deputy Director General Arvind Kumar Dadhichi, Additional State Informatics Officer Rajiv Joshi, Senior IT Director, District Informatics Officer Ankush Pandey, Additional District Informatics Officer Deepti Chamoli, and Economics and Statistics Officer Shashi Kant Giri, along with other officials.
