Dehradun, 26 Apr: Dehradun witnessed the grand inauguration of the prestigious cultural event “Utkrisht Theatre Fest” last evening with the staging of the sensitive and thought‑provoking play ‘Do Harf Adhoore S’e at the KP Nautiyal Auditorium of Graphic Era University here. Written by Devendra Goswami and directed by leading theatre personality, Akhilesh Narayan, the production was presented under the banner of Eklavya, Dehradun.

The opening evening was graced by acclaimed film and theatre actror Himani Shivpuri as chief guest, while CA Naveen Kumar Gupta, patron of Eklavya Dehradun, attended as special guest. The play drew a large audience whose appreciation reflected the city’s growing enthusiasm for quality theatre.

‘Do Harf Adhoore Se’ is an introspective drama that explores the silences, unspoken emotions and incomplete words that often define human relationships. It tells the story of two characters who, despite being deeply connected by love, memories and a shared past, remain emotionally distant in the present. Their bond is strained by ego, fear and the absence of dialogue, leaving them burdened with pain, grievances and unfulfilled desires. As the title itself suggests, those unfinished words which, if spoken, might have changed the course of their relationship. On stage, time, memory and the present merge seamlessly, with minimal dialogue and profound silences that speak volumes to the audience.

Jagriti Kothari portrayed Nikhat Khan, Supriya Maulik played Shabnam, and Nitika Agrawal appeared as the Reporter. All the three actors did full justice to their roles. The backstage team included Akshat on lights, Ritik Simalty for set design, Mahesh Narayan as production controller, while Akhilesh Narayan managed both direction and the sound. Additional credits featured Kamal for music and Saryu for costumes, enhancing the overall impact of the performance.
The audience too responded with resounding applause, praising the depth of the performances and the sensitivity of the narrative. The festival promises to continue offering diverse and outstanding theatrical presentations in the coming days, reaffirming Dehradun’s reputation as a vibrant centre of cultural expression.
