Dehradun, 3 Feb: Doon Education Foundation, in partnership with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, has facilitated the donation of a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance to the Dehradun Police Lines. The initiative aims to enhance emergency medical response capabilities for both the police force and the general public in the district.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the ONGC office in Dehradun today in the presence of senior CSR officials and the representatives of the Uttarakhand Police. The programme began with a traditional pooja performed jointly by ONGC officials and the senior police officers. The ambulance was later formally flagged off by CSR officials along with ASP Police Line Devrat Joshi, marking its induction into active service.
Senior ONGC officials present on the occasion included Neeraj Kumar Sharma, CGM and Head HR Services, Chandan Sushil Sajan, GM (HR) and In-charge CSR, and Arun Singh, Manager (HR) CSR. The initiative was facilitated by Doon Education Foundation, a Dehradun-based NGO actively working in the fields of education, health, environment and social welfare across Uttarakhand. The Foundation has played a key role in connecting corporate CSR efforts with grassroots requirements to ensure effective delivery of resources to the community.
Speaking on the occasion, ASP Devrat Joshi said that the ambulance would cater equally to the public and the police emergencies and would ensure timely medical assistance to citizens as well as to the personnel of the force. The officials present at the event underlined the importance of collaborative partnerships between corporate institutions and civil society organisations in improving access to healthcare. Equipped with essential life-saving facilities, the BLS ambulance is expected to significantly strengthen emergency response mechanisms for the police and the local population.
The programme concluded with a collective commitment to further reinforce Uttarakhand’s social infrastructure through sustained CSR partnerships, with a focus on timely medical support and improved emergency care for citizens.
