
UAIOACON 2026 concludes successfully in Doon

Dehradun, 15 Mar: The 22nd Annual Conference of the Uttarakhand Orthopaedic Association (UAIOACON 2026) concluded successfully in Dehradun after three days of intensive academic discussions, hands-on workshops, and scientific exchange among orthopaedic specialists. The conference was organised by the Dehradun Orthopaedic Society from 13 to 15 March at Hotel Aketa and Hotel Red Fox, Rajpur Road. The conference was inaugurated on 13 March by Chief Guest Dr Ajai Singh, VC, Saifai University, in the presence of Guest of Honour Padma Shri awardee Dr BKS Sanjay, President, AIIMS Guwahati, Dr SN Singh, Dr Gaurav Gupta, Dr Puneet Agrawal, Dr Praveen Mittal, Dr Rajiv Raman and Dr Rajesh Maheshwari.
The scientific programme began with prestigious orations, followed by a series of plenary talks, panel discussions, case-based deliberations, and scientific presentations covering recent advances in orthopaedics. Experts shared their experience on topics such as joint replacement surgery, trauma management, sports injuries, arthroscopy, and emerging surgical technologies. A major highlight of the conference was the Robotic and Advanced Technologies Workshop, which focused on the growing role of robotic-assisted surgery and precision techniques in joint replacement procedures. In addition, cadaver-based workshops on Primary Knee Replacement and Revision Knee Surgery were conducted at HIMS Jolly Grant in collaboration with the Indian Arthroplasty Association, providing hands-on training to participating surgeons.
Another important academic session was the Ponseti Workshop, which offered lectures and practical demonstrations on the Ponseti technique for the treatment of congenital clubfoot, benefiting young orthopaedic surgeons and trainees. The conference also included E-poster presentations and research discussions, encouraging academic participation from postgraduate students and young clinicians. The conference witnessed participation of 256 delegates and 60 eminent orthopaedic experts from all over the country who shared their clinical experience and research insights with the delegates.
During the conference proceedings, it was also announced that Dr SN Singh, chief of All is Well Multi-Speciality and Fracture Clinic, Canal Road, Dehradun, has taken over as the President of the Uttarakhand Orthopaedic Association. The conference concluded with a renewed commitment among orthopaedic professionals towards continuous learning, adoption of advanced surgical technologies, and improving the quality of patient care in musculoskeletal disorders.
