Early Summer in Uttarakhand: Temperatures Surge Across Dehradun and Hill Regions – my uttarakhand news

Since the very beginning of March, the heat has been making its presence felt across Uttarakhand. Although forecasts over the past few days had predicted rain—owing to overcast skies in the plains and fog in the hills—this did not materialize; instead, the heat set new records as early as the second week of the month.

A look at the data from Dehradun on Thursday reveals that the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.1°C—a rise of eight degrees above the seasonal normal. The minimum night-time temperature was also recorded at 16.9°C, marking an increase of four degrees above normal. Meanwhile, in the hilly region of Mukteshwar, the maximum temperature stood at 25.1°C—eight degrees higher than normal—while the minimum temperature was recorded at 10.5°C, a rise of five degrees above the seasonal average.

A similar situation prevailed across other parts of the state as well. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, the weather is expected to remain dry across the entire state on March 13. Consequently, both the maximum and minimum temperatures are projected to remain above normal levels. Looking ahead to the coming days, light rainfall is anticipated in the higher-altitude regions of the state up until March 17. Furthermore, a press release issued by the Centre noted that temperatures across the state had witnessed an upward trend over the past 24 hours.
