Dehradun, 16 Oct: Ecole Globale International Girls’ School marked two days of celebration of the 13th Sports Day and Founders’ Day on 15-16 October, showcasing its commitment to holistic education, excellence, and the spirit of community. The events highlighted the school’s dedication to nurturing confident, compassionate, and talented young women across academics, sports, and the arts.
The 13th Annual Sports Day commenced on 15 October with great enthusiasm on the school grounds. The Chief Guest, Gp Captain Deepak Ahluwalia, an accomplished officer of the Indian Air Force with over three decades of distinguished service, led the celebrations. The programme began with a ceremonial March Past featuring contingents from the five Houses – Aer, Aether, Aqua, Ignis, and Terra displaying impeccable coordination and discipline. The Chief Guest took the salute and declared the Sports Meet open. The Sports Captain administered the Oath of Sportsmanship, reaffirming the values of integrity, teamwork, and fair play. The lighting of the Sports Torch symbolised dedication and perseverance.

The day featured a thrilling lineup of track and field events including 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m races, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, and Javelin Throws. Spectacular Martial Arts and Yoga demonstrations, an energetic Mass PT Drill, and a lively Tug of War with parents and alumnae added vibrancy to the occasion. The Valedictory Ceremonies celebrated winners across categories. Ignis House secured the Principal’s Cup and excelled in Yoga, Basketball, and Badminton. Aer House triumphed in Football, Shooting, and Table Tennis, while Aqua House dominated Swimming, and Terra House shone in Squash and Lawn Tennis. Awards for Best Athlete, Best March Past, and the Overall Athletics Championship highlighted individual and team excellence.
Gp Captain Ahluwalia commended the students for their discipline, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the Sports Vice-Captain, followed by the National Anthem.
The following day, 16 October, the school celebrated its 13th Founders’ Day with grace and grandeur. The occasion was graced by Major General MPS Gill, General Officer Commanding, Uttarakhand Sub Area, a distinguished alumnus of RIMC, NDA, and IMA. The evening began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Major General Gill, Mrs Gill, President Amarjeet Singh Juneja, Director Tarunjyot Juneja, and Principal Kanchan Khandke. This was followed by a melodious Fusion Music performance and an inspiring address by the Head Girl. The Prize Distribution Ceremony recognised excellence in academics, sports, and co-curricular achievements, alongside the release of Banyan, the school’s annual magazine celebrating student creativity and collaboration.
Major General Gill lauded the school’s dedication to nurturing young women ready to lead with purpose, presenting a memento as a token of gratitude. The Principal’s Report highlighted the school’s achievements over the past year. A major highlight of the evening was the Cultural Presentation, Chaos on the Menu a 40-minute comedy that captured the “never-say-die” spirit of youth through the character of Gracy. With spirited dance sequences, witty dialogues, and a celebration of teamwork and perseverance, the performance left the audience laughing and inspired. The evening concluded with a Vote of Thanks, leaving a shared sense of pride and a reminder that Ecole Globale continues to shine as a beacon of learning, leadership, and inspiration.
