GSDP increases to Rs 3,81,889 crores, the Per Capita Income jumps to Rs 2,73,921 PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun The report of the Economic Survey- 2024-25 has presented a healthy picture of the economy of Uttarakhand. The survey suggests that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Uttarakhand in the year 2024-25 stood at Rs 3,81,889 crore which is one and half times more than the GSDP in the year 2021-22. The principal secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram said that the Per Capita Income of the State which was Rs 1,94,670 in the year 2021-22 has increased to Rs 2,73,921 in 2024-25. The Economic Survey this year has been prepared in coordination with the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER). Sundaram said that the growth rate of the economy in 2024-25 was at 7.23 per cent. The Multi-Dimensional Poverty Index in the State has reduced to 6.92 per cent in 2024-25 from 9.7 per cent in 2024-25. He said the Labour Force Participation rate which was 60.1 per cent in 2021-22 has increased to 64.4 per cent in 2024-25. The secretary said that the Human Development Index in 2024-25 has increased to 0.722. It was 0.247 in 2001, 0.684 in 2017 and 0.718 in the year 2021-22. Sundaram further informed that the number of Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the State have increased from 59,798 in 2021-22 to 79,394 in 2024-25. Similarly, the number of people getting employment under the MSMEs in the State has increased from 3,43,922 in 2022 to 4,56,605. He said that the number of large industries in the State has increased to 128 in 2024-25 from 107 in the year 201-22. There were no start-ups in the State in 2017 which have now increased to 1750. Sundaram informed that the total length of road network in the State increased to 51,278 kilometres in 2024-25 from 50,393 kilometres in 2021-22. There are 118 helipads and seven heliports in the State. The PS further informed that the number of degree colleges in the State increased to 139 in 2024-25 from 124 in 201-22. He said that the power production in the State has increased to 16,500 million units (MU) in 2024-25 from 5,157 MU in 2021-22. Similarly, the State has shown a remarkable growth in solar power production which increased 1027 MW in 2024-25 from 439 MW in 2021-22. The Infant Mortality Rate in the State has reduced to 20 per thousand berths in 2024-25 from 22 per thousand in 2021-22. Similarly, the Maternal Mortality Rate has reduced to 91 per thousand from 103. The life expectancy in the State has also increased 73 years.
