PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Haridwar Union Home and Cooperation minister Amit Shah has said that the government is committed to throw every infiltrator from Kedarnath to Kanyakumari, out of the country. He was addressing a well-attended public meeting held to mark completion of four years of Pushkar Singh Dhami government in Haridwar on Saturday. Praising the Uttarakhand government for implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Shah said that the UCC will prove to be effective in preventing unnatural changes in the demography.  Referring to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, he said that the names of those who are not the citizens of India must be removed from the voter lists. He added that purity of the voter list is a must for protecting democracy in the country.  He said that the people of Uttarakhand faced numerous hardships and violence like the Rampur Tiraha incident during the course of the Statehood movement. Shah said that understanding the aspirations of the people, the then BJP government led by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee decided to create Uttarakhand, along with Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. He said, “Atal ji had created Uttarakhand and now Modi ji has taken up the task of improving it. The period from 2017 to 2026 has been dedicated to Uttarakhand’s development,’’ he said. Congratulating the refugees who received Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the Union Home Minister stated that Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain refugees from Pakistan and Afghanistan have as much right to this country as PM Modi.  He said that under PM Modi, the government has taken many historic decisions such abolishing Article 370, enacting the CAA and construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.   Shah said that the Kumbh Mela going to be held in Haridwar in 2027 is set to break all the records. Referring to the Vibrant Village scheme, he said that its objective is to stop migration from the border villages. Shah said between 2004 and 2014, Uttarakhand received only Rs 54,000 crore from the Central government but after that it received 1.87 lakh crores from the Centre.  In his address, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under the guidance of the PM Modi and Shah the State government has accomplished many historic feats.  He said that for the first time, the State hosted a global conference like the G-20 and the National Games. Dhami said the State’s economy has grown more than one and a half times in the past four years. Its GSDP has increased by 7.23 per cent in the past year and per capita income has risen by 41 per cent. In the past four years, the State budget has grown from Rs 60,000 crore to over Rs one lakh crore. More than 20,000 new industries have been established in the State. The number of start-ups in the state has increased from 700 to 1,750 in the past four years. The CM added that the State has secured first place in the country in the Sustainable Development Index for the year 2023-24 released by NITI Aayog.  Dhami said that Uttarakhand has implemented UCC in the State and has taken action against intruders under Operation Kalanemi.  In the programme, the Union Home minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of development projects worth Rs 129.91 crores. Union minister Ajay Tamta, Vidhan Sabha speaker Ritu Khanduri, Rajya Sabha MP  and state BJP president Mahendra Bhatt, Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat, former CMs Tirath Singh Rawat, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank Vijay Bahuguna and others attended the programme.
