Expansion of Dhami cabinet: Aspirants making beeline at CM residence – myuttarakhandnews.com | Uttarakhand News in English | Dehradun News Today| News Uttarakhand | Uttarakhand latest news

PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun After the recent visit of New Delhi by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and his hint on possible expansion of his cabinet, a spurt in the political activity in the national and provisional State capital is being witnessed. The cabinet berth aspirants are establishing contacts with their connections in New Delhi and Dehradun. The number of MLAs seeking a meeting with the CM Dhami has also increased considerably in the last couple of days. Former cabinet minister Arvind Pandey and Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma Kau met Union Home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Monday and reportedly staked their claim for a seat in Dhami cabinet. In the last couple of days many MLAs such as Shantilal Shah, Renu Bisht, Durgeshwar Lal and Kishore Upadhyaya have met the CM ostensibly to press their claim for the cabinet berth.  It is learnt that the BJP high command has given a go ahead to CM Dhami for expansion and reshuffle in his cabinet. It is expected that the CM can go for the much anticipated expansion of his cabinet before the onset of the Sharda Paksha.  Five berths in the cabinet of CM Dhami are vacant for a long duration of time due to which the works of the government are being affected.  It is learnt that CM Dhami is also keen to reshuffle his cabinet and drop a couple of ministers. The CM and the central leadership of BJP are likely to balance the regional and caste equations in the reshuffle and expansion of the cabinet. The districts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Haridwar, Nainital, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh are unrepresented in the cabinet and the MLAs of these districts are hoping to get a call from the CM Dhami.
