Thursday, 08 August 2024 | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that special attention should be paid to innovation in the formulation the government schemes and maximum use of modern technology should be made in their implementation. The CM participated in the meeting of the Secretary Committee at the State secretariat on Wednesday. Incidentally Dhami is the first CM of the State to participate in the meeting of the Secretary Committee. Addressing the meeting, the CM said that special attention should be paid towards good governance. He said that the attention should be paid to Sustainable Development Goals setup by the Niti Aayog. The CM instructed the officers that the issues related to the State’s interest should be reviewed regularly in the meeting of the Secretary Committee. The secretaries in charge of the districts should visit the districts from time to time and regularly review the schemes. He suggested that the major projects of the State should be reviewed separately and on a larger scale. Dhami added that safety audits of various projects should also be done to protect them from natural calamity or any other possible damage. Safety protocols must be strictly followed in works related to projects, tunnels and other infrastructure so that there is no loss of life or property. Emphasising on austerity, the CM said  that it is necessary to control the expenditures along with increasing revenue. The CM was informed that in the wake of the decision taken by the government of India for moving towards ‘net zero emission’ by the year 2070, the State needs to make forays in the field of thermal and geo-thermal energy. Many suggestions were given by the secretaries in the interest of the State in the meeting.  Discussions on increasing the revenue capacity of the state and reducing capital expenditure, making plans keeping in mind the elderly people, effective measures for the protection of destitute cattle and cyber security were held. Suggestions were also given agriculture, horticulture, increasing employment and self-employment opportunities in the State.  Chief secretary Radha Raturi, additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, L Fanai, principal secretary (legal)  Pradeep Pant and all the secretaries were present in the meeting.
