my uttarakhand news Bureau
Dehradun, 4 Nov: Kāsiga School celebrated the second day of its Annual Day 2026 with a vibrant blend of academic engagement, creativity, cultural expression and community spirit. The day brought together students, parents and teachers for a memorable celebration that showcased the diverse talents, achievements and collaborative spirit of the Kāsiga community.
The celebrations commenced with a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM), providing an opportunity for parents and teachers to interact, discuss students’ academic progress and reflect on their overall development. This was followed by an extensive exhibition featuring the work and learning experiences of students across various departments, including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Computer Science. The exhibition offered parents and visitors an insight into the students’ understanding, creativity and practical application of classroom learning. With students taking the lead in presenting and explaining their projects, the displays reflected their curiosity, confidence, innovation and ability to communicate their ideas.

Adding a special dimension to the exhibition, the English and Hindi departments presented their own creative showcases through a series of performances, celebrating the richness of language, literature, expression and the performing arts. These presentations highlighted the importance of language as a medium of communication, imagination and cultural connection.
The academic celebrations were followed by a lively fete, which brought an atmosphere of excitement and togetherness to the campus. A variety of food stalls offered an assortment of treats, while numerous game stalls provided entertainment and enjoyment for students and families. The fete emerged as a cheerful gathering space where parents, students and teachers could come together and enjoy the spirit of the occasion.
The celebrations reached their grand finale with the Annual Day cultural programme in the evening, centred on the theme “उद्गम सेउदय – From Beginnings to Brilliance.” The theme reflected the journey of every individual from the first spark of an idea to the fulfilment of potential through perseverance, learning and dedication.
The evening opened with “The Young Symphony,” an orchestral presentation bringing together Indian and Western musical traditions. Featuring a blend of voices, rhythms and instrumental compositions, the performance included the iconic Bohemian Rhapsody, followed by Indian musical presentations such as Thaan Liya, Chanakya and the Bollywood classic Sholay. The presentation celebrated musical diversity, harmony and the power of collective expression.
The audience was then treated to a theatrical presentation titled “Chaos in the Menu,” an entertaining production revolving around Gracy, a determined restaurant owner striving to preserve her grandmother’s dream. Through humour, unexpected situations and a wonderfully dysfunctional team of characters, the play explored themes of determination, teamwork and resilience, while showcasing the students’ acting abilities and theatrical expression.
The evening’s grand cultural spectacle was the dance drama “The Silk Road,” which took the audience on a journey across ancient civilisations and trade routes connecting the East and the West. Through an engaging combination of dance, drama, music and poetry, the production portrayed the exchange of ideas, traditions, philosophies and cultures that shaped human history. Conceptualised, choreographed and directed by Sharmila Bhartari, an Odissi classical dancer, the production celebrated diversity, shared heritage and the enduring connections between civilisations.
The cultural evening also featured the presentation of the Annual School Report, the inauguration of the Kāsiga School Yearbook 2026, academic awards recognising outstanding achievers across CBSE and Cambridge boards, and the John Mason Memorial Awards honouring excellence in English and Hindi literary expression and theatre.
The House Cup announcements added to the excitement of the evening, celebrating the dedication, teamwork and collective spirit of the school’s four Houses. Nile House emerged victorious in the Academic Cup, Cultural Cup and the coveted Cock House Cup, while Amazon House secured the Sports Cup. These achievements reflected the students’ enthusiasm, perseverance and commitment across academics, cultural activities and sports.
The Chief Guest was Anil Swaroop, whose distinguished career in public service and contribution to education added significance to the celebrations.
