Ganesh Joshi’s exit from Mussoorie is certain: Dr Sonia Anand Rawat

Mussoorie, 4 Sep: Congress leader Dr Sonia Anand Rawat today launched a scathing attack on the state’s BJP government and Mussoorie MLA-cum-Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi. She alleged that unemployment in the state is at its peak and that the state is falling under the influence of the liquor, mining, and land mafia. She stated that the government is not serious about the lack of employment opportunities or the problems faced by street vendors in Mussoorie.
Dr Rawat noted that a large number of people in Mussoorie rely on small businesses and street vending for their livelihood, yet many have been deprived of their means of earning. She alleged, “Street vendors have been rendered homeless, yet there is no one to address their grievances.” She emphasised that the interests of local residents and issues regarding employment must be prioritised in this tourist town.The Congress leader also countered Ganesh Joshi’s claim of winning the upcoming election by a margin of 21,000 votes. She dismissed it as a delusion, stating that the results this time would be the exact opposite. “Ganesh Joshi talks about winning by 21,000 votes, whereas this time he will face a defeat by a margin of 21,000 votes.” She added that speculation regarding the BJP re-nominating Ganesh Joshi from Mussoorie is not a cause of concern for the Congress. The party will enter the electoral fray with full strength and work unitedly to ensure the victory of its candidate.Responding to a question about potential infighting within the Congress regarding ticket allocation, Dr Rawat stated that there is no internal discord in the party. She affirmed that whoever the party leadership declares as the candidate, all Congress workers and leaders would work with full vigour to support them. He claimed that the people of Mussoorie have now fully recognised the performance of the BJP government and the MLA. Consequently, a change in the upcoming assembly elections is certain, and Ganesh Joshi’s exit from Mussoorie is inevitable.
