Dehradun, 29 Jan: The Chairman of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, Dr Ravi Datt Godiyal, along with other members of the Commission, paid a courtesy call today on Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Lok Bhawan here.
On this occasion, they presented the Commission’s Annual Report to the Governor and provided detailed information about the works and activities being carried out by them. The Governor appreciated the innovative initiatives adopted by the Commission and stated that it should make maximum use of new technologies in its functioning. He laid special emphasis on ensuring that the Commission consistently upholds the highest standards of transparency, fairness, and accountability.
The Governor suggested that a book compiling the Commission’s 25 years of experiences, challenges, and achievements should be published, which would help in developing better work processes in the future. He also advised studying best practices adopted by other states and implementing them as required.
On this occasion, the Chairman informed him that, during the financial year 2025, a total of 3,149 candidates were recommended to the government for selection through various examinations conducted by the Commission. He further stated that work is in progress on the digital evaluation of answer sheets, which will make the evaluation system more error-free, transparent, and effective.
Keeping in mind the convenience of candidates, the Commission is also developing a mobile application through which candidates will be able to receive all information related to examinations conducted by the Commission directly.
The Chairman also stated that a new system is being developed to enable candidates to view their marks. Under this system, candidates will be able to log in to the Commission’s website and easily access their scores.
Members of the Public Service Commission, Anil Kumar Rana, Nandi Raju Shrivastava, Dr Richa Gaur; Secretary Ashok Kumar Pandey; Controller of Examinations Jayvardhan Sharma; and Administrative Officer Sunil Bhatt were present on the occasion.
