Gov hears grievances of ESM & citizens from remote areas at Lok Milan Event

Dehradun, 21 Aug: Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) on Friday heard the grievances of ex-servicemen, their dependants, and citizens who had come from remote areas of the state during a Lok Milan programme held at Lok Bhavan, here.
The Governor directed the officials concerned to ensure the prompt and effective resolution of public grievances. He stressed that there should be no unnecessary delay in resolving matters related to public welfare.
A total of 14 people from Uttarkashi, Almora, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Haridwar and Dehradun districts presented their problems and suggestions before the Governor. The issues mainly concerned land-related matters, employment opportunities, assistance for village development works, and various personal and community-related concerns.

After hearing all the cases seriously, the Governor said that every matter would be resolved according to the prescribed rules and within the stipulated time frame. He instructed the grievance redressal officer to immediately forward the cases to the respective District Magistrates and departmental officials and ensure regular monitoring of their effective resolution.
The Governor said that the Lok Milan programmes organised periodically at Lok Bhavan are aimed at directly hearing the problems of the general public, particularly ex-servicemen and their families, and taking sensitive and effective steps towards resolving them.
On the occasion, sportspersons who had achieved special accomplishments in various fields also met the Governor. Para-athletes who won medals at the 2nd Asian Para Throwball Championship held in Malaysia met him. Medal-winning players from the International Karate Competition held in Kathmandu also called on the Governor. Shalini Rana, who won a medal at the Ice Stock National Games under the Winter Games category, also met him.
The Governor congratulated all the sportspersons on their achievements and wished them a bright future.
During the programme, Dr Ramesh Singh Pal, Dr Kamal Kishore Duklan and Dr Harendra Chaudhary presented their self-authored books to the Governor. They briefed him about the subject matter and writing of their respective books. The Governor appreciated their literary efforts and extended his best wishes to them.
