Gov interacts with Mass Com students of Doon Varsity

Dehradun, 5 Mar: Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) met students from the Department of Media and Communication Studies at Doon University at the Lok Bhavan here, today. On this occasion, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Surekha Dangwal, and Head of the Department of Media and Communication Studies Prof Rajesh Kumar were also present.
The students had recently played an important role in the publicity and promotion of the three-day Vasantotsav organised at Lok Bhavan.
The Governor interacted with the students and asked about their experiences and the lessons they learned from the event. Appreciating their work, he said that the dedication, depth, and professional approach with which they covered the event were highly commendable. He also praised the students for their work on assessing the economic impact of the festival and studying it from an economic perspective.
The Governor honoured all the students by presenting them with mementos.
On this occasion, the Governor encouraged the youth and said that the greatest strength of Uttarakhand lies in its flowers and its happy people. He noted that the students demonstrated excellent creativity and technical skills during the event. The Governor further said that the happiness of the people and their emotions are the true wealth of society, which must be preserved for future generations, and the students had captured these sentiments effectively in their coverage.
