Dehradun, 25 Dec: On the eve of Veer Bal Diwas, the Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), paid heartfelt tribute to the Veer Sahibzadas, remembering their unparalleled courage and supreme sacrifice. He offered his homage to Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh, and Mata Gujri for their sacrifice.
In his message issued on the eve of Veer Bal Diwas, the Governor said that the sacrifice, martyrdom, and indomitable courage of the Veer Sahibzadas reflect their deep faith in religion, culture, and the nation. He stated that Veer Bal Diwas provides an opportunity to remember the extraordinary contribution, bravery, and sacrifice of children. The Veer Sahibzadas made the supreme sacrifice to uphold the dignity of the Khalsa Panth and to protect dharma against Mughal atrocities.
The Governor said that Veer Bal Diwas teaches that even in the most difficult circumstances, one should never bow before injustice and must stand firmly for the protection of truth and dharma. He added that the lives and sacrifices of the Veer Sahibzadas continue to be an invaluable source of inspiration for the people of the country, especially the younger generation, instilling values of patriotism, courage, and a strong sense of duty.
