BJP Tuesday, 05 NOVEMBER 2024  | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN Terming the bus mishap at Marchula as tragic, the Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that the machinery of the State government promptly went into action as soon as information about the accident was received. The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that apart from announcing an ex-gratia of Rs four lakh each for the next of kin of the deceased and Rs one lakh assistance for the injured, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself monitored the situation. The government ensured that those injured in the mishap was taken to the hospital promptly, he claimed. Terming the allegations levelled by the Pradesh Congress Committee chief Karan Mahara as baseless, he said that assistance reached the affected on time. “The injured were taken by ambulance for primary treatment on time and those who were seriously injured were airlifted to the higher centre. The condition of the road is okay at the site where the accident occurred. The actual cause of the accident will be known after the inquiry is completed,” Chauhan said. He further said that orders have been issued to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the mishap and that the Kumaon commissioner has been directed to do the needful. Further, the assistant regional transport officers of Pauri and Almora have been suspended for negligence. Strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty in the inquiry. The BJP State media in-charge further said that the opposition should come forward to provide succour to those affected by the mishap, adding that allegations and counter-allegations can be done after the inquiry report is known. Dhami has been monitoring the rescue operation and is among the affected, he added.
