Govt committed to transparent recruitments on vacant posts: Dhami

Dehradun, 10 Apr: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today handed over appointment letters to 12 candidates selected for the post of Mapping Officer under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare at a function held at the CM’s official residence. Extending his best wishes to the newly appointed officers on this occasion, the CM said their contribution would play a vital role in strengthening the agricultural system of the state. He expressed confidence that each of them would work with honesty and dedication in their respective fields.
Dhami emphasised that the state government remains committed to and has ensured a transparent and impartial recruitment process by implementing a stringent anti-cheating law. He noted that since the effective enforcement of this law, more than 30,000 youths have already been appointed to government services in Uttarakhand. He described this as evidence of the government’s commitment to the youth and its resolve towards good governance.
The CM also asserted that Uttarakhand is actively promoting natural farming and is also encouraging the production and marketing of millets. To enhance farmers’ income, the government is focusing on the use of modern technologies, expansion of irrigation facilities and crop diversification. In addition, cultivation of apples, kiwis, horticultural produce, cultivation of medicinal plants is also being given a strong push. He reiterated that the government’s objective is to make agriculture profitable and appealing to the younger generation so that more people are motivated to engage in this sector.
Among those present on the occasion were Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi, Agriculture Secretary SN Pandey, Additional Secretary Anand Srivastava and senior officials of the Agriculture Department.
