PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun The State government has decided to construct guest houses of 350 bed capacity for the attendants of the patients admitted in the government medical college hospitals of Dehradun and Haldwani. These guest houses will be constructed by the Sewadan Aarogya Foundation. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Sewadan Aarogya Foundation and the two medical colleges was inked at the State secretariat on Wednesday. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and health minister Dhan Singh Rawat were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, CM Dhami said that the State government is making continuous efforts to improve the health facilities in the State. He said that the construction of guest houses in the medical colleges of Dehradun and Haldwani will be beneficial for the attendants of the patients admitted in these hospitals.  The CM asked the Sewadan Aarogya Foundation to set up a similar facility at the upcoming satellite centre of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Kichha in Udham Singh Nagar district on which the Foundation gave its consent. Under the MoU, the foundation will construct guest houses in the two government medical colleges having a capacity of 352 beds each. Attendants will have to give an amount of Rs 55 per day per bed while Rs 300 per room. They will be provided breakfast for a paltry sum of Rs 20 and dinner and lunch for Rs 35. The Government Medical College Dehradun and Medical College Haldwani will provide 1,750 and 1,400 square meters of land respectively for construction of guest houses.  Secretary R Rajesh Kumar,  Vinay Shankar Pandey, director medical education Dr Ashutosh Sayana, Abhishek Saxena from Sewadan Arogya Foundation attended the meeting.
